Rotorua District RDA has been operating for over 40 years, and until 2016, was located in a paddock on Lee Road. Although the facilities were modest, we have helped thousands of riders living with disability over the years. Now that we have an amazing indoor complex on a lake front location, we can expand our purpose and vision to keep growing in the years to come, to not only benefit our riders, but also our community.
Rotorua District RDA is one of 54 RDA Groups that together form the New Zealand Riding for the Disabled Association (NZRDA). Collectively the Groups enhance the lives of over 3,300 riders per year and deliver 81,000+ rides. Since its formation in 1962, NZRDA therapeutic riding has helped to bring positive change to tens of thousands of people throughout New Zealand, helping them to live beyond their disabilities.
So many good people, great horses and courageous riders that have all done their bit to grow RDA in New Zealand and help ensure a bright future.

We are sincerely grateful for the generous and ongoing support of many funding providers, trusts and businesses. Click on the logos below to read more about some of our key supporters.
However, the need to fundraise and attract sponsors, donors and volunteers is ongoing. The costs of upkeep and running cost on the facilities and the care of our horses and all equipment will always be ongoing. So please, click here to read more about the many ways that we all can give a little of our time, skills or product.
